Field Day update: What a great way to begin quarter 4 (though it was a tad late due to poor weather). The whole 6th grade team rotated through 5 games and a rest station. We played Capture the Flag, Ultimate Frisbee, Steal the Bacon, Clean out your kitchen, and Soccer. A good time was had by all!

In Language Arts, we discussed ending for our realistic fiction short stories. Writers consider various endings. How would the situation turn out in real life? Rethink "easy" endings. We may need to relook at our due date as we now have the Forward State Standardized test next Wednesday-Friday.

Language Arts: Today we took our realistic fiction characters for a "test drive." In order to learn how our characters will respond in a number of everyday settings, we put them in the lunchroom, in the hallway, and at home right after school. We made sure that our scenes included: action, internal and external dialogue, motivations and obstacles. If you need to learn more about your character, please try out some more scenes for homework.
